It's Oktoberfest Time, let's have a Fondue Party!

In the 1970's Fondue Parties were all the rage.  People bought their own avocado green, mustard yellow, and burnt orange fondue pots with matching forks.  They dipped everything in that yummy melty cheese.  So, of course, the kids had to get in on the action too!

Serendipity Books by Stephen Cosgrove and Robin James

Leo the Lop Poster sold to Stephen Cosgrove!

A while back I found this great poster at a thrift store in Salem, OR.  I kept if for a while, because I just loved these books as a kid.  Leo was probably my favorite. I always wanted a lop eared rabbit named Leo!

Once I finally decided to sell the poster, I sold it on ebay to Stephen Cosgrove himself!  How cool is that?

You can still buy these books at most book stores and online at http://robinjames.net/ , the illustrator, Robin James, own site.  They are fun stories that also teach important lessons.  Fantastic character education and great discussion starters with kids.

Is Count Chocula coming back soon?

This is an ad and iron on transfer from a 1979 Magazine.  Woman's Day I think.  I sold it on Ebay a while back, but I wish I would have kept it and ironed on this great image!  I want to be pals with Frankenberry too!

Strawberry Shortcake !!!!!

I Love Everything Strawberry Shortcake!  Vintage mainly, but the new stuff is cute too!

I have a Strawberry Shortcake Room, but I don't let me take over my house.  The room is getting pretty packed!  With that said, I do still buy items I don't have, so let me know if you are selling any Strawberry Shortcake items.  sunyday76@aol.com

Fisher Price Play Food McDonalds

As a kid I played Drive Thru  (Fast Food Spelling) all of the time.  We didn't have anything fancy like this.  My Grandpa built us a playhouse out of old ply wood.  It had a sliding window in it.  That sliding window was our drive through, and we all fought over who got to be the window server.  That playhouse later turned into a shed and recently came down to make way for a new shiny shed.  The "kids" insisted that the Drive Thru window must be saved because it is an institution.  We cut it out and it is somewhere in the garage.

As it turned out, we all ended up working in fast food as teenagers.  Definitely not as much fun.

I love, love, love play food and this Fisher Price set is fantastic!  Is there a toy in that happy meal box?  Maybe not, since the box is a toy!

Ms Pac Man Table Top Game

I found one of these Ms Pac Man Table Top Games at a garage sale for $2 years ago.  It's my dream to own a Ms. Pac Man machine, but I guess this is a good place holder for now.  I just love looking up at my little Pac Man Shelf and seeing her sitting there and getting dusty.  Truth is, these aren't so easy to play, and not as much fun as they look.  The handheld video game had a long way to go when these came out.  I'd love to own the entire mini arcade!
